The Kenya School of Government, in partnership with the National Police College Embakasi “A” Campus, has successfully conducted the first Security Staff Training Course, an intensive one-month program aimed at strengthening the professional capacity and operational readiness of KSG’s civilian security personnel.

19 security officers drawn from all KSG campuses participated in the program that combined indoor learning with practical field exercises to equip participants with essential skills in physical security, tactical communication, physical fitness, security documentation, and modern crime prevention techniques. The initiative reflects KSG’s continued pledge to maintaining a safe and secure environment that supports learning, training, and effective public service delivery.

The graduation ceremony was officially graced by KSG Director General Prof. Nura Mohamed, accompanied by Dr. Wesley Kiprop, Director, Baringo Campus, and Ms. Nkoroi Laikera, Deputy Director, Administration Services, under whose docket the graduating officers serve.

From the National Police Service College was Commandant of the Rapid Deployment Unit, Mr. Godfrey O. Otunge amongst other senior officials.

The training demonstrates the School’s resolve to continuously enhance the competence of its security personnel through structured professional development and future capacity-building opportunities.

It is anchored on the four pillars of physical security deterrent, preventive, detective, and corrective measures which provide a comprehensive framework for safeguarding people, assets, information, and critical infrastructure.

The program comprised rigorous physical drills, and team-based activities designed for preparation for the realities of modern security operations.
