This year, the Kenya School of Government participated in the 5 day Kisumu National ASK Show that attracted thousands of attendees united to explore solutions that will shape a more resilient and prosperous future.

Under the theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” the forum reflected Kenya’s growing pledge to strengthening food systems, expanding trade opportunities and building resilience against the effects of climate change.

The vision for the Show was reinforced by the message of Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, delivered by Deputy Governor Dr. Matthew Ochieng Owili during the official opening. In his message, the Governor emphasized Kisumu’s strategic position as a gateway to the East African region, noting that the county must continue investing in production, value addition and regional trade to enable farmers and entrepreneurs to compete in continental markets.

He further challenged young people to view agriculture as a frontier of innovation that demands scientists, engineers, ICT professionals, entrepreneurs and creative thinkers, encouraging them to use the ASK Show as “a classroom beyond the classroom” by engaging exhibitors, learning from innovators and cultivating ideas that can drive sustainable development.

KSG is among the institutions participating at the fair, joining other organizations in demonstrating how their work contributes to national development. While agriculture remains the backbone of Kenya’s economy, its transformation depends not only on technology and innovation but also on effective leadership, sound public policy and institutions with the capacity to deliver quality services. It is within this context that KSG’s participation resonated strongly with the theme of the exhibition.

Throughout the week, the School’s exhibition attracted a diverse audience of government officials, development partners, students, professionals, and members of the public. Officers showcased KSG’s mandate and services while forging new connections and exploring partnerships to advance leadership, governance, and public sector capacity development.

Adding vibrance to the exhibition was the choir, whose energetic performances became one of the highlights of the School’s participation. Members entertained audiences daily at the main arena and at the exhibition creating an atmosphere that was both informal and welcoming. The blend of information sharing and entertainment reflected KSG’s style of making public engagement meaningful and memorable.
