Commissioner Njoki Kahiga, OGW- Chairperson
Commissioner Njoki Kahiga is a seasoned public officer with a rich career spanning over 30 years in various leadership levels through to the position of Ag. Permanent Secretary in the then Ministry of State for Public Service. She brings to the Kenya School of Government (KSG) a wealth of experience and expertise in Public Service Management and Governance.
Commissioner Kahiga is no stranger to the School; she chaired the Committee that developed the strategy that saw the transition of the Kenya Institute of Administration and Government Training Institutes (GTIs) to KSG, in line with the aspirations of Kenya Vision 2030. In the then Ministry of State for Public Service, she is credited with overseeing the massive upgrading of infrastructure at the GTIs in preparation for the transition.
Upon leaving the Civil Service, she served as Commissioner at the Kenya Law Reform Commission where she was Chairperson of Finance and Administration Committee and in 2019, she was appointed Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund, an Affirmative Action Fund mandated to provide subsidized credit to Kenyan women.
Commissioner Kahiga holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Salford, UK; Bachelor of Education, University of Nairobi; one-year advanced Management programme jointly organized by Strathmore Business School and IESE Business School of Navara University in Barcelona.
She is proficient in Corporate Governance and has served as Board and Council member in several public service institutions. She is also a certified professional mediator and Honorary Fellow of Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK), Fellow of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Committee member of Association of Professional Societies of East Africa (APSEA).
Ms. Linnet Mirehane, Member
Ms. Linnet Mirehane currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of the National Bank of Kenya (NBK), a position she has held since 2015. During this period she has served as Chairperson of NBK Bancassurance Intermediary Limited, Chairperson of the Board Risk Committee, and a Member of Board Credit Committee. She has also served as the Chairperson of NBK Staff Pension Fund.
Earlier, she worked with the Teachers Service Commission as a high school teacher. She is also a Trainer of Trainers in Leadership and a Certified Professional Mediator and has credible experience in designing, implementing, and managing of programs in areas of good governance, gender, human rights and democracy having worked with Civil Societies and educational institutions.
Ms. Mirahane holds a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University and a Diploma in Management of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) from the Kenya Institute of Management.
She has attended courses in finance, risk and Board affairs both locally and internationally, and is a member of the Institute of Directors, Insurance Institute of Kenya, Women on Boards Network, and Suluhu Mediation Centre.
She brings on board a wealth of experience from her corporate and public sector background as she joins the Council of Kenya School of Government as an Independent Member.
Prof. Ludeki Chweya, Phd, CBS, Secretary/Director General
Prof. Ludeki Chweya is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya School of Government. Chweya has previously served as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President and Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Kenya. He is presently on Leave of Absence from the University of Nairobi where he has supervised numerous graduate theses and lectured in International Relations, Security studies, and Political Economy of Development in the Department of Political Science & Public Administration for more than twenty years, rising to the position of Senior Lecturer. Prof. Chweya has recently been appointed Associate Professor of Political Science at the School.
Prof. Chweya received the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree and the Master of Arts degrees in Government from the University of Nairobi and the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Political Studies from Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Prof. Chweya serves as Secretary to the Council of the Kenya School of Government.
Mr. Denis M. Mutahi , Alternate to the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action
Mr. Mutahi holds a Master’s of Science in Human Resource Planning and Development and a Bachelors of Education. He is career civil servant with over 20 years of civil service experience and currently serving as a Director of Human Resource Management and Development, State Department for Public Service. He is a member in the Human Resource Committee, Risk and audit, Learning and Development and Finance and General Purpose Committee.
Mr. Micah Origa ,Council Member Representing Principal Secretary,
Micah Origa holds a Master of Science Degree (MSC Finance) from the University of Nairobi, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree. He is also Certified Public Accountant (CPA- K).
Mr. Origa has wide experience in public sector budget formulation, preparation, implementation and monitoring.
He has sat on several other Boards over the last ten years. He is a member in the Audit and Risk as well as Finance and General Purpose committees.
Dr. Ruth Agesa , Member representing Universities
Dr. Ruth Agesa, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Peace and Conflict Studies from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Masters in International Studies from University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Music from Kenyatta University. She has vast experience in the Education sector.
Mr. Joseph Musyoki, Member Representing Commission for University Education
Joseph Musyoki is a holder of a Master of Science Degree (Zoology) and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Kenyatta University. Mr. Musyoki has vast experience, spanning over 20 years, in research and higher education quality assurance. He is currently in charge of Institutional Accreditation at the Commission for University Education. He is the Chairperson for Finance and General Purpose and a member in the Learning and Development committees respectively.
Ms. Gatwiri Kirimi, Member
Ms. Gatwiri holds a Master’s of International Business Administration, Strategic Management Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Science Degree (Marketing) from United States International University. Currently she is a Managing Director at Inforparts Technologies Limited. She is the Chairperson for the Human Resource Committee and a member of Finance and General Purpose Committee
