KSG’s Under the Tree Series was successfully launched in Oldonyiro, Isiolo County – the first county to set in motion conversations that have the blessing of Government, communities and partners committed to meaningful impact.

For far too long, many communities have viewed government through the lens of what is missing, and what is not being done, often overlooking the progress being made. It is time to bring citizens closer to the stories of transformation and show how government endeavors to improve lives and build stronger communities.

Prof. Nura Mohamed, KSG Director General and the visionary behind this initiative, spoke of his excitement at beginning in Isiolo – a community whose spirit is rooted in carrying others along and moving forward together.

The journey to Oldonyiro is no easy feat. The long, rugged terrain tells its own story of the challenges communities here navigate daily—and perhaps why this was the right place for the Under the Tree Series to begin.

Beyond dialogue, the initiative was also a reflection of corporate social responsibility in action— development is not only about policy conversations, but also about practical acts of service, inclusion and shared responsibility that touch lives. The community received food and medical supplies. 

Partners and stakeholders including the Office of the Governor, County Government of Isiolo, the Area Member of Parliament, representatives from the National Government Administration led by the County Commissioner, Isiolo, Astradental, National Youth Service (NYS), Peace Link, Mid-P, Isuzu East Africa, and ASREP, among others, supported the initiative. Local stakeholders present included representatives from the Council of Elders, retired senior citizens, COPAD regional bloc representatives, secondary school teachers, and representatives from health institutions.
