What is the Kenya School of Government all about?
Kenya School of Government is a statutory body established under KSG Act No. 9 of 2012 with the mandate to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies of public officials and thereby transform the Public Service into an efficient, innovative, and expert agency in national leadership and management, policy making and implementation, service delivery, and public engagement.
Where are you located?
We are headquartered at Lower Kabete, Nairobi with four campuses across the country in Baringo, Embu, Matuga and Mombasa.
Are all your courses certified?
Certificates are issued to participants who have attended programs offered over a minimum period of three days. The participant must successfully complete the program by meeting all the requirements including effective participation.
Are the courses offered on full time or part time basis.
Most of our face-to-face courses are offered on full time basis from 8:30am to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday. However, we also make arrangements with corporate clients for part time delivery.
Which Certificate courses do you offer?
We offer Certificate in Social Work, Certificate in Management of Public Enterprises, and Certificate in Youth Entrepreneurship in Agriculture.
Do you offer tailor made programs?
Yes we offer tailor made courses to suit client needs. This is critical since some clients have peculiar needs.
Do you offer online training?
Yes. Most of our online courses are offered through our e-Learning and Development Institute.
Who pays for training fees at your School?
Employers sponsor most of their staff who train at the School
Who is eligible to train at your School?
Officers who work in the Public and Private sectors provided they meet the requirements of the different courses offered.
As an O’Level graduate, can I train at your School?
We have a few courses that can benefit you as an O’Level graduate. These are the Diploma and Certificate programs. Examples are Certificate in Youth Entrepreneurship in Agriculture, Certificate in Social Work, Certificate in Management of Public Enterprises, Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Public Administration, Diploma in International Studies, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Public Enterprises. However, majority of our programs benefit individuals who are already in the work environment and would like to sharpen their skills in specific areas.
How do I apply for a course at your School?
All applications are done online through our website
How can I get my quotation/profoma invoice?
Once you submit your application, you will receive a code that will help you access your electronically generated proforma invoice.
Which Diploma Courses do you offer?
We offer Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Public Administration, Diploma in International Studies, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Public Enterprises.
Which Master's Program do you offer?
We offer two Masters Programs in collaboration with the University of Nairobi; Master in Public Administration and Master of Arts in Diplomacy.
Can I get a copy of my Certificate before paying my School fees?
Certificates are only issued upon completion of training to the satisfaction of the School Academic Board and after full settlement of the training fees.
Can I be sponsored by the School to any program?
We, currently, offer sponsorships to youthful promising leaders in short courses like introduction to leadership, Management and Information and Communication Technology under the Corporate Social Responsibility kitty.
Can I sponsor myself?
Yes, you can self-sponsor to train at the School.
