Staff visit the Msamaria Mwema Children’s Home located in the Mwimuto area of Lower Kabete. The home was founded by Winnie and Peter Chege in 2007 and has been a haven for abandoned children, those that are orphaned or those found living in abject poverty. It started with three children and is now a shelter to 40 youngsters of various ages. The home is sustained by well-wishers’ donations of food, clothes and education. The founders strive to keep some animals to supplement some of their food on their small piece of land. 

The Covid-19 pandemic period saw a reduction in the visits from well-wishers to Msamaria Mwema Home. The social call from the School was a welcome call through words of encouragement and food donations that marked the beginning of a good friendship.
