Rachel Ngesa, Ph.D

Director, Learning and Development

Rachel Ngesa Maina is currently the Ag. Director Learning and Development at the KSG. She has a PhD in Educational Psychology with specialization in psycho-metrics and advanced statistics, a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and a B.Ed. Science (Maths-Maths) degree. Dr. Ngesa has more than 27 years’ experience as a researcher, consultant and trainer at KSG and the Kenya Technical Teachers College. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer at the USIU-Africa, Kenyatta University; Kenya Institute of Professional Counselling, Kenya Educational Management Institute and the National Defense College.


Rachel has published book chapters, training case studies and has organised symposia and presented papers at national, regional and global levels. She is a member and peer reviewer of the African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) and the Kenya Association for Public Administration and Management (KAPAM). Dr. Ngesa has conducted Training Needs Assessment, Training Impact Assessment, skills audit, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and PC related surveys. She was the lead researcher in the World Bank project on "State of Public Services in Africa-AMDIN/AU" and the "Skills Audit Survey, Republic of South Sudan”.
