E-Learning Course Production


e-Learning Course Production is one of the most rewarding tasks within an eLearning project since it brings visible results. You create a product that you can show others and which gets you some concrete feedback. In this workshop, you will learn about the optimum order of steps within a course production process. These tasks can be delegated to other persons, too, e.g. a specialized author, a designer and a programmer. That way, they can be carried out simultaneously.

Target Group

This is a second level course that targets people working in the ICT industry or academic institutions as lecturers, eLearning managers, who intend to become proficient in eLearning course production. This is not an introductory course to eLearning. To attend this course, you need to have attended the Fundamentals of eLearning at Kenya School of Government, eLearning and Development Institute. Alternatively, those who are already proficient in the use of ICT resources and have some level of eLearning awareness are also eligible to apply.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop you will be able to:

  • Produce an eLearning course
  • Design screen segmentation
  • Apply web design principles including the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Decide on Content Concept and structure
  • Collect materials
  • Choose and customize a technical platform e.g. the learning management system (LMS)
  • Add interactive features to the content e.g. audio and simulations
  • Ensure quality of your eLearning course
